Latvian hound is a little bit below average height; dog’s build is dry and strong. Dogs are 43 – 50 cm, bitches are 40 – 46 cm at the withers.
Color of coat: black with marked yellowish-brown in strictly defined areas on chest, eyes, on inner side of legs and under the head (under chin). Coat is 2 – 3 cm short, equable, sharp and shining. Skin is flexible and without crinkles.
